Comments on Helen Zille's "Fanonistas at UCT

As usual, Premier Zille hits the ‘nail on the head’.  But, I’d like to make a few comments.

First, she should use the term “silenced majority” to avoid connection with disgraced US President Richard Nixon’s dubious use of the term.  The majority at UCT is not silent.  It has been silenced; not just by Fallist bullies and anarchists, but also by the non-hearing, including:

1. the fact-flexible, endlessly negotiating/capitulating, protester-pardoning UCT Executive;
2.  UCT’s overwhelmingly powerful Communication and Marketing Department that presents a Panglossian picture of events taking place at the former non-racial UCT; and
3.  its Executive Director of the Development and Alumni Department noted for saying “Whether it’s true or not is not an issue.”  “We’re on the right side of history.”

The Fallists are not merely Fanonistas.  Some are just anarchists and others Marx-Leninistic-Gramscian communists.  Others are anti-‘white’ racists unconnected ideologically and looking for a degree without doing the work.  Some may simply be traditionalists searching for ‘scientific’ confirmation of their beliefs.

Regardless, the common goal of Fallists and others in for the ride is to destroy what UCT used to stand for.  For lots more on this, have a look at my blog site  timguineacrowe.blogspot.co.za

No discussion. No debate. No rationalism. No academic freedom.  Truth is nothing more than current understanding.  It is determined by what Max Price describes as “prevailing context’.
